Soludo in a statement by his media aide, Christian Aburime, described the lawmaker’s killing as heartless and barbaric, saying he received the news with rude shock and deep sadness.

According to him, it is probably the same criminal gang that attacked him and killed three policemen at Isuofia two years ago that is once again on the prowl.

The governor also reassured the people of Anambra State of his administration’s resolve and renewed determination with the security agencies to go all out against the criminals and ensure they are brought to justice.

This is even as he placed a N10m reward for anyone or group that will avail valuable information that will lead to the immediate arrest of the perpetrators of the dastardly act.

“Soludo condoles with his kinsmen of Isuofia, noting that it is probably the same criminal gang that attacked him and killed three policemen at Isuofia two years ago that are once again on the prowl. But they can never cow down Isuofia and Anambra State,” the statement read.

“The governor is still in shock over the barbaric acts against his two kinsmen, vowing that the perpetrators, as well as all criminals operating in Anambra, must be decisively brought to book.

“Governor Soludo has consequently placed N10m reward for anyone or group that will avail valuable information that will lead to the immediate arrest of the perpetrators of this dastardly act. Anambra will soon be hell for these criminals.

“He wishes to reassure Ndi Anambra of the government’s resolve and renewed determination with the security agencies to go all out against the criminals and ensure they are brought to justice.

“Anambra will win against the forces of darkness. Ndi Anambra should brace up for the all-out war against the criminals.”

Nigerian Teachers Sent Abroad For Training Refuse To Return After Graduation

The government of Jigawa State has suspend indefinitely in-service training courses for teachers following the action of some primary school teachers said to have gone for in-service training courses in universities across the world, but have refused to come back to Nigeria long after the completion of their studies and consequently, have not reported to their places of work.
The issue came up following the commencement of verification of primary school teachers across the 27 local government areas of the state. Not long ago, the Jigawa State government inaugurated a special verification committee aimed at smoking out ghost teachers and absentees.

As a result of the action of the teachers who absconded abroad, the government has not only been compelled to suspend in-service training courses, it has also set up special committee to find those involved and other workers in the education sector receiving salaries without coming to work. The government was angry and highly disappointed that the teachers betrayed its trust by remaining abroad when their expertise was needed back home

Dangote fires 36 Expatriates, 12 Nigerians over Poor Business

Recession is sure affecting many, including the very rich. The current hardship rocking the economy has hit one of the biggest employers of labour in Nigeria as the Dangote Group, belonging to Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has fired 48 senior members of staff.

Those sacked were made up of 36 expatriate and 12 Nigerian workers from the group’s headquarters and one of the subsidiaries, Dangote Cement Plc.

Though no official of the group was willing to speak on the matter, The Punch gathered from highly placed sources that the decision to sack the workers was not unconnected with the current high cost of running business in the country occasioned by the unavailability of foreign exchange and the unprecedented hike in the naira to dollar exchange rate.

It was further gathered that the huge amounts in foreign currencies being paid to the expatriate workers had become a burden on Dangote due to the steady depreciation in the value of the naira and the difficulties of raising enough dollars.

Consequently, Dangote, according to sources, has decided to replace the expatriates with Nigerians, who have acquired the requisite experience on the job, and he will be paying them in naira.

For the affected Nigerians, it was gathered that most of them had disciplinary issues, which made it easy for the group to do away with their services.

When she came to me on Thursday

give her the money. I told her to go to
JSS one class and join the other two
girls; that I would soon be with them.

joined them there and taught them for
the day. My house is not far from the

home and do the dishes. “I told the girl to
go with me, that I would buy the
notebook for her at a woman’s shop near

hungry. I bought biscuit for her and as I
was about to go, the woman said I
should bring her bottle which had been

should go with me to the house, so that I
would give her the bottle. That was how
the girl went with me to the house.
